Hi all,
Wow, oh, wow, oh wow. OMG! specifics will be under the cut, but I absolutely couldn't believe it!
Spoilers below (click link to read).
OH MY GOD!!!!! They killed Ianto. I can't believe it! AND I'm really ticked off. The Ianto/Jack relationship was one of my main reasons for watching Torchwood in the first place. And Ianto, himself, as a character I also really, really enjoyed watching! I really thought it was totally unnecessary. And I kept hoping that somehow they'd "bring back" Ianto -- he'd turn out to be a Time Lord, or Jack would use his powers to bring him back. I mean, Ianto's death was SO sad and so well handled, and I cried. But I really think they've made an actual mistake in killing off Ianto.
The second thing was the politics! OMG! I couldn't believe how ruthless the polititians were -- to sit there and calmly discuss giving 10% of the world's children to the 456. And THEN on top of that, to ensure there own kids would be exempt. God, I had shivers.
And Ianto convincing Jack that they had to stand up to it -- and the great scene where Jack and Ianto DO stand up to it -- and not only does it not work, but the cost is Ianto's life. Like NOOOOOO!
I really, really want to see some sort of happy ending out of this, but Torchwood is starting to look like Blake's 7 -- no happy endings and everyone dies, and I really sorta' hate that!
But I'll be watching tonight.
Oh, and I'm having Internet problems at home, but I hope to post on Day 5 as soon as I can.
