Four Bitchin' Babes Concert
Mar. 15th, 2008 01:20 pmHi All,
Thursday night I actually went to a concert (don't fall over in shock). I saw Four Bitichin' Babes, a folk quaret that do a lot of humourous and women-centered songs. I actually had first heard of the group years and years and years ago when they first started (I have the first couple of CDs:
Buy Me, Bring Me, Take Me: Don't Mess My Hair --Life according to Four Bitchin' Babes" Vols. 2 and 3
Vol. 2 Features Christine Lavin, Sally Fingerett, Julie Gold, and Megon McDonough
Vol. 3 Features Christine Lavin, Sally Fingerett, Patty Larkin, and Megon Mcdonough
The tour was the Hormonal Imbalance tour, with a different line-up of babes (other than Sally Fingerett who's still with with group). (And the CDs upstairs, so I can't get it at the moment).
But the concert was great -- I laughed, I cried, I enjoyed it immensely. I actually went with my Mom who also enjoyed it a lot. To add to the surreal nature of the concert, tho', it was held in an old church downtown. The Fountain St Liberal church -- I don't know much about that church, but it was really gorgeous! The freeze above the door outside was beautiful. Inside in the lobby they had painted mosiacs that were incredible. And inside there was these beautiful stained glass windows, and at the front of the church was a really neat arch painted with, well a painting with all sorts of gold leaf.
Anyway, it was a fun night!
Friday night I had to teach -- subbing in a Linux class.
Saturday morning I also taught, -- subbing in a advanced networking class.
Oh, and catching up on my messages. "Professional development credit" is something I get from work. I'm a teacher, college-level (in a Tech school), and I must keep up to date thru' classes, on-line classes, etc. I think it's incredibly fun that I might actually get *Professional* development credit from work for going to a con. But I do intend to actually *attend* the Linux/Computers track. I must remember to bring a notebook to keep track of what I actually do at the con.
