Hi all --

Just so EVERYONE is totally clear on this -- my recent posts on my Pre, iPod, and e-reader represent my own UNPAID OPINION on technology and technical gadgets.  I happen to like 'em, especially when they make my life easier.  I'm actually a BIT TICKED OFF by the suggestions in the normal media that (a) women can't use technology, and (b) women don't want to use technology.  I think B angers me more than A -- because it's pretty easy to disprove A to any idiotic moron who comes up to you, notices your boobs and and suggests you can't possibly understand how to use a computer, but the people who suggest that NEITHER SHOULD YOU and WHY DON'T YOU JUST GO HOME and COOK SOMETHING get me so angry I start to see red.  (And why do so many people with that attitude work at Best Buy?)
So -- my short take on tech and gadgets is:  if  it makes my life easier and has a practical purpose, I'm usually a fan.  And I've been posting a series of blog entries on my personal gadgets and tech loves because I'm trying to come up with some ideas for writing some pretty serious complaint letters to certain tech magazines about their Edwardian attitude towards women.
My longer take is:  I don't buy gadgets to keep up with the Joneses or to just have 'em (I still don't own a Garmin or similar GPS device, and I really can't think of a good reason to own one).  I buy something once it's been around for a little while, so the price has come down and a lot of the kinks have been worked out
of the actual tech.
