Hi all,
OK, prepare for a total, whiny, complaint-fest, because the last few days have been a total mess. I had a performance review at work, and it was basically the same old thing that my statistics aren't good, I need to improve them, (but unfortunately for me I don't know how).
Then, Thursday night, my cell phone dies. 6pm I get a phone call, and it's working great, 7:30-ish, I go to check the time -- it's not working, the screen's completely blank. So today I spend three hours driving around town, go to three different cell phone places and all three tell me that the phone screen is broken, and I'll need a new phone.
Well, I was thinking of changing providers and upgrading anyway (I hate Centennial!) so I did some comparison shopping.
Here's what I found:
AT&T -- Data/Internet, cell phone, txt package $69.99 /month, (close to 80 or 90 with taxes), and a prand-new iPhone Touch for $100.00
Sprint-- Data/Internet, cell phone, txt package $69.99/month- minus 7% teacher discount (plus $9.99/taxes) brand new Palm Pre (must buy at $299.99 with $100.00 mail-in rebate)
iPhone -- lots of apps, can view Word/Excel docs, can't edit
Palm Pre -- fair amt of apps, full internet (like iPhone), not only can you view Word/Excel/Powerpoint apps, you can modify them.
iPhone --Limited to 8GB memory (this is bad, I've filled my 8gig iPod).
Palm Pre I forgot to ask about memory, transferring contacts, etc.
I went to Verizion but they are annoying and rude and don't want to even talk to me.
I suppose I could try T Mobile.
I'm also having Internet problems. We had tried satellite -- but now that's been turned off completely. The cell internet doesn't like my main computer downstairs (so I'm typing this on the laptop). I really don't want to go bck to dial-up!
And my folks keep nagging me about everything - that I'm only working part time and all of it.
the thing is -- I reall love technology. I need to keep in contact with the friends i have all over the place, most I've met thru' fandom, and I feel totally alone without Internet.
Arrgh! / Help!
