1. Name a TV show series in which you have seen every episode at least twice:
Everything in my DVD cabinent! My stuff ranges from SF and Supernatural to mysteries/cop shows, all sorts of stuff.
2. Name a show you can't miss:
Doctor Who, Torchwood
3. Name an actor who would make you more inclined to watch a show:
Cary Grant, Fred Astaire (hey I LIKE classics), John Simm, Julian Glover, John Rhys Davies, Harrison Ford
4. Name an actor who would make you less likely to watch a show:
Tom Hanks (Can't stand him), Tom Cruise (ditto, I can't stand him)
Women -- it's more a type, talentless stick-figure blondes!!!
5. Name a show you can and do quote from:
Doctor Who, Buffy: The Vampire Slayer, Torchwood, Blackadder,
I also collect quotes, so I have them from most shows I watch.
6. Name a show you like that no one else enjoys:
Well, I watch a lot of British television -- which often includes stuff that folks in the US have never heard of. Such as "The Piglet Files", "Blackadder", "The Professionals", etc.
7. Name a TV show which you've been known to sing the theme song:
First -- I gotta ask, "singable "MacGyver"??" -- doesn't have lyrics, does it?
I dunno -- animated shows that I watched as a kid: Scooby Doo, Real Ghostbusters, The Flintstones, The Jetsons.
The Blackadder theme
8. Name a show you would recommend everyone to watch:
Most anything in my DVD cabinent. I'm forever trying to get my friends to try other stuff outside of their TV comfort zone (or movie comfort zone for that matter).
9. Name a TV series you own:
Hmmm…don't you mean name a TV series I don’t own?
Yeah, really -- I've got over 100 sets (but a big chunk of that is *Doctor Who* because of the way it's being released). Most recent acquisitions: *The Job* Denis Leary's comedy where he's a cop, *Batman: The Animated Series Vol. 1*, and *Justice League: Unlimited Season 1*.
10. Name an actor who launched his/her entertainment career in another medium but who has surprised you with his/her acting chops in television:
Hum -- usually this goes the other way from Television to Film/Movies. But John Barrowman started his career on the stage (both Broadway and London, UK), and is a fine TV actor (*Doctor Who* and *Torchwood*). Another one -- Anthony Michael Hall -- started as a "brat pack" actor in teen movies ("The Breakfast Club", "Pretty in Pink" etc) and was good in them, if a bit immature. He's fantastic in the TV series version of "The Dead Zone".
11. What is your favorite episode of your favorite series?
Oh. man -- I can't answer that one!
12. Name a show you keep meaning to watch but you just haven’t gotten around to yet:
Buffy The Vampire Slayer, Supernatural
ditto on *Supernatural* -- I'm going to try to borrow it from a friend this summer.
*Rescue Me* Denis Leary's series where he's a firefighter. I like Denis Leary, I like firefighter/rescue/hospital/er -type shows (both the fictional ones like *Emergency*, *E/R* etc and real ones on DHC), and a lot of folks I know who know me have highly recommended it. I just haven't gotten around to ordering it on DVD, and I never watch F/X the station that airs it.
13. Ever quit watching a show because it was so bad?
Oh, gods, yes. Probably more times than I can count. The memorable ones -- the Star Trek franchise other than the original series from the 1960s.
My rule of thumb is I'll watch the pilot and one more ep -- if I don't like it after that, forget it.
14. Name a show that's made you cry multiple times:
Any that have sad parts (Charmed, Alias, Macgyver, ...)
MacGyver???
Buffy, probably. *Babylon 5* probably. It probably depends more on what's going on in my life and if it's "that time of the month". I mean -- when I'm hormonal, a cute dog or cat food commericial can send me bawling.
15. What do you eat when you watch TV?
Oranges.
That's healthy!!!
Me -- popcorn, chips, chocolate, licquorice. For the first episode of the new *Doctor Who* when it aired here -- I got some Jelly Babies from Meijer's.
16. How often do you watch TV?
Daily. I do tend to schedule things out though, focusing on my favorite shows and trying to avoid mindless channel flipping. I also work evenings, so I only tend to watch TV on the nights I'm home. But I also love my VCR and DVD player!
17. What's the last TV show you watched?
You mean like this week? Probably Batman. Um, lots of Batman. I'm currently watching *Batman: The Animated Series* on Jetix (Disnay's night network), *Justice League Unlimited* and *The Batman*. But I'm also making my way thru' the DVDs I just got which is *Batman: The Animated Series* again and Denis Leary's *The Job*.
18. What's your favorite/preferred genre of TV?
Cop shows, SF, Supernatural, Fantasy, oh and rescue shows/medical shows.
So, for example at the moment I'm watching: House, MD; Heroes; Stargate: Atlantis; Psych; Monk; Doctor Who; Torchwood. Oh -- and I can't wait for series 2 of *Robin Hood* even tho' it's not as good as *Robin of Sherwood*.
19. What was the first TV show you were obsessed with?
Doctor Who!!!
Then Blake's 7, The Sandbaggers, The Man from UNCLE, you name it!
20. What TV show do you wish you never watched?
Tough question! Maybe *The Outer Limits* (either the original or the 90s re-make) -- the stories were good, but it was so ... depressing and freakily paranoid.
21. What is the weirdest show you enjoyed?
Easy -- *Sapphire and Steel*. Awesome weirdness.
Weirdest show I didn't enjoy was *The Prisoner*. I never could figure it out, and watching it was like a train wreck -- you couldn't stop watching (secretly hoping an explanation was forthcoming, but it never came). The title sequence tho' is great, and I have the theme on my Ipod.
22. What TV show scared you the most?
Again, *Sapphire and Steel*. Scared the crap out of me -- even with almost zero special effects (and the ones they had were cheesy). It shows what you can do with shadows, with light, and with fantastic scripts!!!
23. What is the funniest TV show you have ever watched?
Probably *Get Smart* for American TV. (Although another great one is *WKRP in Cincinantti*, which I know I mis-spelled). British TV -- *Blackadder*, *The Piglet Files*, *Fawlty Towers*.
