I GOT THE JOB!!!!!!

I got the job!  I'm a teacher!
For the last couple of weeks I've been up for a teaching position, adjunct professor and I got it!
After my third interview!
So now I'm going to be a teacher like most of my family.  And I'll be in a "caring" profession, like everyone in my Dad's family.

So after hearing for most of my life that I *should* be a teacher, and me saying NO I don't want to, now, I am a teacher!

That's irony for you!

Course the whole applying, interview, second interview, THIRD interview process was like totally nerve-wracking.  And believe me, I've missed a heck of a lot of sleep, especially over the last 4 or 5 nights because I was so nervous.  (the last time I was this nervous about something it was the oral defense of my first thesis-- and I was so nervous then that I thought I was going to throw-up before entering The Room.  And that worked out-- I passed and got my first MS degree.)

Anyway, I was nervous, cause I finally realized that I WANTED to be a teacher.

When I was in grad school getting my IT degree (my 2nd master's) I wasn't quite sure what I wanted to do with it.  But when I graduated it slowly dawned on me (it's been 8 months) that what I really, really wanted to do was teach about computers.   'Course the other thing I want to do is write, but I might get into technical writing as well.  And even if I don't I'll always write fanfic, both as a stress-reliever and as a way of expressing my creative nature.
And inbetween getting my Master's and now I spent six months at a McUniversity getting my certifications-- and it was those certifications which got me the job-- which I'm really excited about.

So, with Mom being a teacher, Dad being a school psychologist, my brother ALSO being a teacher (community college, in Physics and math), and my sister-in-law who burned out on teaching extremely e.i. kids and is now in curriculm/instruction (with her eye on admin), not to mention an uncle, cousins, etc who teach.  Geezzz, I'll fit right in!

Wow!   I'm a teacher!
